When a natural disaster destroyed my real estate business in 2004 I was saddled with $26 million in various debts that I couldn’t pay. Through years of fighting with creditors that were trying to collect non-stop, I discovered tactics to settle those debts for pennies on the dollar – including some for nothing at all.I founded DebtCleanse because over the years I’ve personally seen too many people swallowed up by the financial system and funneled into a cycle of debt. The strategies I learned can be used by anyone carrying the weight of endless payments. I understand the mental and physical stress that unaffordable debt can bring, and I’m determined to help people break out of the payment cycle and live a debt free life.

I handle contracts, risk management, compliance and regulatory matters for DebtCleanse as well as providing legal advice to support the day to day operations of the company. I also manage recruitment and day-to-day operations for the attorney network, including making sure our attorneys are properly vetted, and are trained to recognize and use the DebtCleanse strategies to help our members clear their debts.I’ve held a number of positions with Hyatt Legal Plans over the course of a dozen years, including General Counsel, and prior to that I owned a full-service law firm in Cleveland, Ohio. I’m currently in my second term on the Board of Directors for the Group Legal Plans Services Association, founded by the American Bar Association.

I’ve been known as a “Jacqueline of all trades.” From grassroots to growth, cultivating the human connection through access to knowledge has been an intrinsic part of both my professional and personal goals. Creating a domestic violence advocacy program at a women’s shelter, tutoring children with special needs and developing leaders in the contact center have brought great joy over the past 15 years.I’m passionate about constantly improving processes and workflows to consistently deliver the best service and product. Whether working with teams or customers, the question I always seek to answer is, “What can be done to make it better?” Chances are, you can find me pitching in to help any team contribute lasting value to the DebtCleanse community.

I’m an artist, designer and educator, and grew up in Sheffield in the north of England. Before relocating to Chicago in 2014 I lived in Scotland, where I co-founded an artist collective, and was a part of the editorial team for a small arts publication. I’m interested in the power of collective action to effect change, and at DebtCleanse, I oversee the day-to-day running of the office as well as handling a variety of creative projects, from graphics and presentations to our setup for webinars.

If you see something about DebtCleanse on your computer or phone I likely had a hand in it. I handle SEO, website copywriting, email, social media, PR, digital ads, digital analytics, and overall marketing strategy for the company.I cut my marketing teeth at a Chicago-based cannabis-focused private equity startup before moving on to a trade association in medical aesthetics. In a previous life I was a production supervisor in book publishing, while also spending a lot of time writing articles about music, food, the environment, and politics for blogs that don’t exist anymore.
